Archaeology, a contemporary myth

“Archaeology, a contemporary myth” offered a daring short cut between 2
opposite disciplines at first sight. It pointed out the question of erasing, obliteration of
the past, the lost of landmarks histories.
In a society dominated by breaking news that obliterates the events one by one, and
contributes each day a little more to collective amnesia, the artists get busy to give to
their work the thickness of the past by exploring the ambiguity of the false/authentic.
So, they borrow from the archaeologists the approach and the techniques of excavati
ons in order to offer a split up reality, carrying all the phantasms.
